 2008 SPORTMOD RULES

The rules and/or regulations set forth herein are designed to provide for the orderly conduct of racing events and to establish minimum acceptable requirements for such events.  The SportMod Rules shall govern the condition of all SportMod events.  By participating in these events, all participants are deemed to have complied with these rules.  They are intended as a guide for the conduct of the sport and are in no way a guarantee. 

MUST RUN MUFFLERS

IMCA Rules, except motor rule.  Motor buy will be a $1000 swap.  If refusal to sell, a $1,000 fine payable to I-76 Speedway will be assessed plus suspension from the track for 30 calendar days from the date of refusal to sell, loss of all cash winnings for the event and points for the season.  IMCA claiming procedures apply.

MOTOR RULES

1.         Must run gas.

2.         One 2-barrell carburetor. 

3.         Must run stock non-performance production manifold.

4.         Ignition systems must be OEM stock (no spark boxes).

5.         Center dump headers only.

6.         No light-weight starters.

7.         168 tooth stock steel fly-wheel on chev – other makes comparable stock fly-wheel.

8.         Standard steel 3-speed transmission only.

9.         Steel pressure plate and single disc clutch.

10.        Gear ratio no deeper than a 583 final.

11.        Body sail-panels 36" max - 24" min.

12.        May run Hoosier or McCreary modified tires.
