HANSEN TOPS THE RACES AT I-76

 

Fort Morgan, Colorado, April 27, 2008  –  In spite of the wind, I-76 Speedway hosted another great race event with seven classes of cars.  

After three Heat Races and a B-Main, John Hansen of Brush, finally took the lead from Eric Burwick of Aurora, at lap 18 in the Modified Main Event.  Hansen with his smooth driving style paced himself and moved up from the third row for his big win.  Jeremy Frenier of Fort Morgan, has also honed his racing style to perfection, and slid into second spot on the white flag lap.  Burwick finished third.  

            In the SportMod class, Brandon Williams of Fort Morgan, grabbed the first spot from Darren Green of Fort Morgan, early in the race and held that lead for his win.  Brandy Hansen of Brush, John Hansen's better half, moved up to second, leaving Darren Green in third.

            Zach Hilzer of Fort Morgan, took his new car to the winner's circle this week-end in the Street Stock division, with Justin Simonson of Wheat Ridge, coming in second.  Mike McFarland of Fort Morgan, was third.

            The Econo class maintains its status as one of the biggest and most entertaining classes, and the old man of the class, Loren Walker of Fort Morgan, finished first.  Todd Brotemarkle of LaSalle, came up second, and Ed Lundquist of Fort Morgan, was third.  

            The Mod-Lites, Dwarfs and Outlaw 1200 Mini-Sprints finished off the roster, with Nic Sutton of Arvada, winning the 1200 Mini-Sprints Main Event, Andy Rogers of Akron, finishing first in the Dwarfs, and Stephen Beckham of Fort Collilns, won the Mod-Lite's Main.
