Fireworks lit up the sky and the heart of hometown girl, Angie Hayes who took the checkers in her first ever IMCA Modified win. A sellout crowd gave the #50 a standing ovation as she rumbled into the winners circle. Track owner Butch Speicher reported that he had never heard the crowd react to a winner as they did to Angie’s triumph over another fan favorite ” flying J”, Jeremy #17J Frenier. Dick Brack, in the 14B finished third with “weekend warrior” WW2 Bubba Alvarado taking the fourth spot. The IMCA Sport Mod feature event saw Chad Dolan #87D finish just ahead of #74 Steven Lewis for his second win at I-76 this summer. Ryan Moser finished in the third spot with #11, Becky Dechant in tow. Econo #66, Kraig Thomas got to take the 1st place trophy to his mantle after winning the main feature with a broken water pump. Craig Smith #05 finished second with #39 Chad Mann close behind. Todd Brotemarkle #7 finished fourth. Skylar Rhoades #44 drove a great race and finished just ahead of the #9S Scotty Soder, and #63 Maria Hankins, in the 27 Micro main feature. Rounding out the top five were #8 Blaze Bennett, and #25 Cody Langevin. Lanny Bolton driving the #24 Hornet finished ahead of Travis Brandt #40, and #51 Cameron Ratcliff. Number 5, Cole Hall finished fourth. The dwarf main had Alex Amen #46 finishing first ahead of the 17R Larry Stone. Brad Bayne in the 3 car finished third ahead of Charlie Dragger #11. The next race will be held on July 19th when the BST Late Models and the BST 305 Sprints make an appearance at I-76 Speedway. Fan appreciation night is also scheduled for that night. Races start at 6. Be sure to come out meet your favorite drivers, and join in on the fun!!
